Our self-contained, purpose designed Nursery provides the children with an environment which is secure, bright, happy and stimulating. The Nursery children are led by a Norland trained, qualified teacher supported by qualified practitioners.
The indoor space is separated into activity areas, whilst the attached, garden area provides an ideal space for exploration outside, this is in addition to use of our large playground, lawned area, playing field, wildlife area and beautiful village location!
Children learn through exciting and stimulating themes that incorporate the seven areas of learning in the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
The specific areas of development grow out of the prime areas. They include essential skills and knowledge for children to participate successfully in society; literacy, mathematics, understanding the world and expressive arts and design. The key principles which underpin the curriculum is the belief that each child is unique, positive relationships are crucial and that the provision is enabling. A large proportion of children in the nursery move into our Pre-Preparatory department. Strong links between the departments ensure that the transition is calm and happy. Children in the Nursery frequently visit the Pre-Prep to utilise the School facilities, familiarise themselves with the environment, and are included in whole school events.
Children can join the term before their third birthday; we offer both full time and part time places.
Although the nursery is termly, our Holiday Club is open all year round, except for one week at Christmas and Bank Holidays, for those parents who require additional care facilities.
