Focus on Magical Moments

Awe and Wonder

“Wow” moments stimulate curiosity, imagination and invention and bring huge delight and exhilaration -they are fundamentally important to our development as humans. Giving children the opportunity to experience and recognise them is inherent in a well-rounded education.  As a school we nurture these magical moments every day in simple acts: stopping to appreciate a rainbow; sharing science discoveries at the annual science fair; sharing and delighting in the wonders of creation. This week our younger children, from Nursery to Year 1, had a special ‘awe and wonder’ moment when standing at the foot of Wells Cathedral and contemplating its sheer vastness, then being able to see and fully appreciate Luke Jerram’s ‘Stewards of the Earth’ project inside.
