Year 6 Bushcraft

On a bright January afternoon Year 6 headed off for their bushcraft session at the wild life area. There they were greeted with a warming fire, under the parachute with seating logs for all: a very special classroom!  The session focused on the development and use of tools, especially the positive, safe use of bushcraft knives.  As ever the children rushed down to the session and were reluctant to leave.

Year 6 trip to see Oliver

Many of the Eagles were treated to a super production of the musical, Oliver, at the Athenaeum in Warminster on Wednesday evening; a lovely conclusion to our Victorian and Dickens’ studies. Even more excitingly they were able to watch Tom Taylor perform his debut as Dodger; it was a fantastic interpretation of the character, Tom, well done!

Reminder: Pantomime, Wednesday 18th January

Monday, January 16th, 2012

As you already know, we are taking the children (Yr R-6) to see Dick Whittington, next Wednesday at the Theatre Royal, Bath.  The coaches will leave school at 1:00pm and we expect to be back at approximately 5:45 pm.  Please use the pupils’ entrance on the Frome Road and wait in the playground in the usual way to collect your child.  We will ‘feed’ the children out to you via the school hall.  The children need to come back into school to pick up their bags.  To ensure the safety of all the children, please don’t attempt to collect them on the roadside.

Please note that there will be no after school club on Wednesday 18th January for nursery children.
