Year N and R

The Ducklings and Hedgehogs had a lovely autumn walk on the Beckington Loop, searching for blackberries which they enjoyed sampling! They played boundary games to learn about safety in the outdoors and had a great time getting to know each other.

Year 6 trip to Sevington Victorian School

The fully costumed children of Year 6 travelled back in time to immerse themselves in school life of over a hundred years ago, with plenty of time to practise their skills with a slate and handwriting copybooks.

Whilst the boys tried their hand at making bees wax candles, the girls were obliged to blacken the range, polish the brass and sew lavender bags

Bushcraft Demonstration Day

Thursday, September 15th, 2011

On Wednesday 14th September all the pupils will be involved in a bushcraft day on our lawned area.  Mark and Lucy Hotson are setting up early so that parents can view too at the beginning of the school day!

In order to inspire and truly connect children with nature Mark Hotson and the school have worked together to devise a programme, which combines elements of the National Curriculum with bushcraft and country lore.  The opportunity to learn in this way, the meaningful contexts, is truly inspirational.  For a more detailed look at the curriculum and to read testimonials from children and parents, we would encourage you to visit Mark’s website on  www.countrylore.co.uk .
